A safe space.
Not a medical service.

What Mamalu is, what it isn't, and where to go when you need more.

What Mamalu is

Mamalu gives you a private space to write freely about your experience: pregnancy, postpartum, early motherhood. The information we share comes from sources we trust: Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, ACOG, AAP, Evidence Based Birth, and the MGH Center for Women's Mental Health. We don't interpret it for your situation. We don't advise. We reflect.

The voices you read from other moms are their own words, shared to help you feel less alone. Not as guidance.

What Mamalu is not

If you need medical advice

Talk to your doctor, midwife, or healthcare provider. They know your situation. We don't.

If you are in crisis

If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or others, please reach out immediately. They are trained for exactly this moment.

How we handle crisis

Mamalu's reflection has two states and nothing in between.

Normally, the AI reads what you wrote and reflects it back. It does not advise, diagnose, or judge how you are doing.

If what you write carries signs of harm to yourself or your baby, it stops. No reflection comes back. You get one fixed message with crisis lines instead. Your words are still saved to your book. We don't remove what you wrote because it was hard.

The session is counted toward a yearly total we have to report by law. That total is a number only. It never includes your name or anything you wrote.

We detect this with a fixed list of words and phrases. It is not a clinical screening tool and it is not a substitute for one.

Your words, and what happens to them

Mamalu only works if you can be honest here, so here's exactly how your reflections are handled, in plain language.

What you write stays private. Your reflections are yours. We don't sell them, we don't use them to advertise to you, and we run no advertising trackers on any page where you reflect or answer questions about your pregnancy.

How the reflection is written. When you write, your words are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to compose the reflection we send back. Under their commercial terms, your words are not used to train their AI, and they're deleted within about 30 days. Your Memory Book stays with your account until you choose to delete it.

We don't read along in real time. Mamalu is a reflection tool, not a monitoring or crisis service. If something you write suggests you might be in crisis, we'll show you resources right away. But we can't see your account in real time, and we can't send help. The numbers above are how you reach someone trained for that moment.

Mamalu offers reflection and general information, not medical advice. For anything about your health or your baby's, your care provider is the person to ask.

Your choices. You can see, export, or delete everything you've written any time. Just email hello@mamalu.app. Non-essential analytics you can switch off right here, without asking anyone:
